Tuesday already? Enjoying the alcohol.

Alcohol INKS that is ;)

Wow! It's Tuesday, really? What happened to Monday? Oh yeah, I spent half the day in the car and the other half at the beauty salon (might should have spent the whole day there).

Ok, so I am behind as usual...but for my card I thought I'd get ahead ;) Do you realize Fall is just around the corner? Schools start here in just a week. *sigh*

For this card I tried a little something new (for me). I used the Ranger Alcohol inks on a clear piece of acetate. I just used the backing that I saved from a set of stamps that I had already placed in CD cases and didn't need. It was kind of fun and something I could see many possibilities with. I also used the inks on the buckle and the tag....they were silver metal and I wanted something that would blend better. I stamped two leaves in brown and cut them out and placed them on metallic cardstock and covered it with the acetate and secured it with brads. Then wrapped with ribbon and a metal buckle and added a tag that was also inked with the alcohol inks and stamped with brown stazon ink. It's kind of hard to tell in the photo but the card has a lot of shimmer because of the metallic cardstock shining through (click on the image to see full size):

Now, those who have actually been reading my blog for a while (thanks to the two of you) know I like to add a little inspiration in as well. Unfortunately this summer I have been so busy I haven't really kept up with that. So today I decided it was time to make time ;) Thinking ahead to fall here is a gorgeous photo I found this morning with colors sure to inspire:
